Lorraine R. Walsh · You Building You Take the quiz

You did not disappear. You just got quieter.

Coaching for mothers in the years before the house goes quiet. Take the quiz and I will show you where you have been standing, and what is actually waiting on the other side.

Take the quiz Free, and about 2 minutes. I read your result back to you myself.

The part nobody names

Quiet self-abandonment is the slow, almost invisible way you start leaving yourself out of the decisions that shape your own life.

It does not feel dramatic. It feels normal. It feels like being a good mother, a good wife, a reliable friend. You scroll, you save the posts, you nod along to the podcasts, and then you tuck your own needs back in the drawer.

Then one evening the house is quiet, and the question arrives with more weight than it used to carry. Who am I going to be when they do not need me like this anymore?

I know that question, because I sat with it myself. Four children. Thirty years of holding everything together. I had become just Mum, and I was good at it, but it was not all of me anymore.

Here is what I want you to hear. That question is not a crisis. It is an invitation. It is the door finally cracking open.

You are not burned out.
You are misaligned.

It was never a personal failing, and it was never a midlife crisis. It is what happens when you have spent years living in response to everyone else, and lost touch with how you are actually built to move through your life.

A design mismatch. Not a broken woman. And a mismatch can be corrected.

Four ways women stand at this door

Every woman gets stuck here differently.

There is no wrong one, and no bad news at the end of it. Knowing which one is yours is what turns a fog into a first step. The quiz tells you which one you are in about 2 minutes.

A woman pausing at a crossroads
One

The Careful Crossroads‑Keeper

Thoughtful, responsible, endlessly researching. You have read the books and saved the courses. You are waiting to be certain before you move, and certainty keeps not arriving.

A woman with a spark of a new idea
Two

The Initiating Riser

The ideas come and they come beautifully. You start, you feel the lift, then something stalls it around week three. You live it more in your head than in your days.

A woman carrying the weight of the family
Three

The Overextended Pillar

The default parent. Everyone leans on you and it works, so nobody asks how you are. The tiredness is bone deep now, and you have become slightly invisible inside your own house.

A woman in quiet reflection
Four

The Quiet Recalibrator

Calm on the surface, and a great deal moving underneath. You are watching, sensing, waiting for it to settle. You worry that your slow and careful process is really just stagnation.

Who you would be working with

I am Lorraine. And I did this the long way round.

I grew up in Ireland, the only girl among three brothers, which taught me early how to hold my ground. At eighteen I moved to London, built a career, and then moved to the United States, where I spent more than thirty years as the emotional anchor of my family. Four children. A husband building businesses. I was very good at being the one who held it all.

What cracked it open was a house. I renovated a 1923 home and it ended up on a tour of homes, and standing in it I realised I had taste and vision and capability that had been buried under the word Mum for two decades. Around the same time my eldest started to step away, and the grief of that arrived long before the front door ever closed.

So I went and got trained properly, because I did not want another woman to spend years figuring out on her own what a good map could have shown her in weeks.

A Midlife Rising client

Do this while the house is still full.

There is a window while your teenagers are still home, still noisy, still needing you. It is the easiest time to do this work and almost nobody uses it. They wait for the silence, and then do it the hard way.

Start now, and the day the door closes behind them you are not in free fall. You are already someone.

Start with the quiz Free, and about 2 minutes. It will tell you exactly where you are standing.
